 Night Mode

It is similar to how it worked with Google Pixel. When you enable the night mode, the screen of the phone becomes yellow, it reduces the blue light channels so that you can fall asleep easily after you have used your phone. It lets you customize the yellow channel. You can set a customized time-frame to turn on or off this feature or allow the mode to become enable and disable automatically based on sunset and sunrise.

Google previously limited this feature to Pixel Devices only, but since OnePlus 5 is the ability to run on Oxygen OS, therefore, users are able to enjoy this feature as well.

Reading Mode

Reading mode is somewhat different when compared with the right mode on both Google Pixel and OnePlus 5 itself. In reading mode, the yellow light is not being used. On the contrary, the entire screen turns black and white in order to give you the impression of reading on paper.

You can enable this feature by going to Setting, from there you look for Display option. Tap on it, and then search device section. From there, you will be able to turn on or off the reading mode. You can even customize it i.e.allow certain apps to use it and disable it others.
