We have got some really good news for Sony Xperia Z3 users. The Xperia UI ROM guys are back with a new Android based custom firmware ROM and Xperia Z3 is the lucky one which is getting an update with Xperia UI ROM Android 7.1.2 Nougat Custom Firmware.

The latest ROM will give you the genuine experience of an Android smartphone along with some really awesome features and tweaks to customize your Sony Xperia Z3. In this tutorial we are going to give you a brief and comprehensive tutorial on how to install that latest Xperia UI ROM firmware onto your Xperia Z3. 

So let’s get you started with some important things you need to keep in mind before the installation process.

Prerequisites:

You need to make a backup of your data, as they will have to clear your phone’s memory in order to install Android 7.1.2 Xperia UI Nougat Custom Firmware on your phone.

  • Make sure that you have enabled the USB debugging modeIf it is disabled, your phone will not get connected to your PC.
  • Another important thing to do is to download and install the latest USB drivers of Sony Xperia on your computer.
  • The bootloader of your phone should be unlocked.
  • The phone should be rooted and it should have the latest Custom Recovery installed on it.
  • Make sure that the battery of your phone is above 80%.

Complete Instructions Update Xperia Z3 with Android 7.1.2 Xperia UI Nougat Custom Firmware:

Step 1: Download Xperia UI 7.1.2 ROM on your PC and extract the boot.img from the zip files separately.

Step 2: Connect your phone to your PC in order to mount its memory. Make sure that you are using the original data cable.

Step 3:  Copy the files that you downloaded in the first step, make sure that these files are placed directly in the memory and not in any folder.

Step 4: Now you will have to copy/paste the boot.img file to the  android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory.

Step 5: Disconnect your phone, turn it off and switch back on into the Fastboot mode. To enter this mode, you have to press and hold the power keys along with the volume down button.

Step 6: Here you will have to go to the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory on your computer and open the command prompt typing in the command ‘fastboot flash boot boot.img’ and pressing Enter.

Step 7: Next you will have to type in the command ‘fastboot reboot’ and press Enter.

Step 8: Then you will have to enter the recovery mode by holding and pressing the Power button and volume down key simultaneously. Once in the TWRP mode, tap “wipe” button to erase all data from your device, then go down and tap “swipe to the factory reset” option.

Step 9: To flash the ROM, you have to head back to the main menu, tap on install option and then search for the ROM zip file that you have copied to your phone’s memory. Select it, tap on the confirmation button to proceed on with the installation process.

Step 10:  Once the installation process is completed, tab +++++Go Back+++++ to reboot your device and select “reboot system now”.

That is it! You are done updating your Sony Xperia Z with Android 7.1.2 Xperia UI Nougat Custom Firmware.
