The company has always managed to deliver only the best. If you have an LG G6 G6 H870, you are in for a treat as now you can root and download a custom recovery on your phone.

There are a number of advantages of downloading a custom recovery on your phone, especially TWRP. Yes, you will lose your warranty if you download a custom recovery, but this is a very little price to pay as compared to the features you will get. You will be able to enjoy the full potential of the phone, you can test its limits and make factory level changes in the device with a custom recovery. Flashing different firmware is another feature that you can enjoy with a TWRP recovery on your phone. In the course of this article, we are going to teach you how to root and install TWRP Recovery on your LG G6.

There are a number of things that you need to install and download on either your phone or your PC.

  • You need to make a backup of your entire data as download a custom recovery will delete all your data.
  • Make sure that the USB Drivers of your phone are downloaded on your computer. They should be properly installed as well.
  • The USB Debugging mode of your phone should be enabled.
  • Make sure that the bootloader of your phone is unlocked.
  • You need to install the Fastboot and ADB drivers on your computer.
  • The battery level of your phone should be more than 70 percent.
  • You will have to download TWRP for LG G6
  • You will also have to download SuperSU.65 file for your phone.

Complete Instructions:

Step 1: You have to download SuperSu file on your computer and then transfer it to the external SD card of your phone.

Step 2: To boot your device into the bootloader mode, you first need to connect it to your PC via USB cable. Then you have to give the command “adb reboot bootloader” in the Minimal ADB and Fastboot window.

Step 3: Now you have to download the TWRP.img file and place it in the same folder as the ADB and Fastboot. After then, type the command “fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.0-0-h870.img” on the command prompt and hit enter.

Step 4: To make sure that your device sticks with this recovery you need to boot your phone into TWRP Recovery mode. If you boot your phone into the Android TWRP, this might replace it with the stock recovery. So, disconnect your phone and take out the battery. Now put back the battery and turn it back on by pressing and holding the Power button along with the volume down button.

Step 5: Once you are in the TWRP mode, you need to tap on Install and then navigate to the place where you have placed the file. Select this file and to confirm installation simply swipe.

Step 6:  Reboot your phone and you are good to go!
