There are a number of things that you need to download and install on your phone or PC before you get down to the actual rooting process.
- The first thing that you need to do is install USB Drivers of HTC U Ultra on your computer. Make sure that they are properly integrated.
- Next, you need to make a backup of your data as rooting your phone may end up deleting all your data.
- You need to make sure that the USB Debugging mode is enabled on your phone.
- The bootloader of your phone should be unlocked.
- Make sure to Install TWRP 3.1.1 Custom Recovery on your HTC U Ultra.
Instructions of Rooting your HTC U Ultra with SuperSU:
Step 1: You need to start with downloading the SuperSu root file for your phone on your PC.
Step 2: Connect your computer to your Phone via USB cable.

Step 3: The file that you downloaded in the first step, you need to copy that onto your phone’s memory. Make sure that you directly place it onto the memory and not in any folder.
Step 4: Switch off your phone and disconnect it.
Step 5: Now turn your device back on and enter the recovery mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the Power button along with the Volume Down button while you are switching your phone on.
Step 6: Once your phone is in the Recovery mode, you need to tap on the ‘Install’ button, a list will be displayed on the screen. Choose the zip file that you copied in the third step.
Step 7: Swipe the “Swipe to Confirm Flash” and the installation will start.
Step 8: Once the process is completed, Reboot your phone by pressing the Reboot System button. This might take a couple of minutes, especially if you are rooting for the first time.
Once it is done, you can enjoy a rooted HTC U Ultra and do as you please with it.
