  • Many of the users have managed to solve this problem by manually enabling the USB Debugging mode on their OnePlus 5. To do this, you have to go to Settings, from there to About Phone. Tap on the Build number until a pop up appears with a message that “You are now a developer” Head back to Settings, and there you will see another option, the “Developers Option”. You need to tap on it, and then on the USB Debugging mode to enable it. Once you enable the mode, you might have to restart your phone again.   • It seems that the problem is due to APN Setting. You first need to go to your mobile’s Setting, from there look for More Networks and tap on it. Head to Mobile Network, Access Point name and lastly search and tap on APN for the network. After this, you need to change the APN Protocol to either IPv4/IPv6 or to IPv4. Notifications are cleared Automatically

Certain users have complained that notifications from the status bar and the notification drop down tends to get cleared on their own after some time. This causes them problem, as they tend to miss out some important messages or calls.

  • This problem isn’t a bug, but we believe that it has something to do with the battery management feature. You need to go to Setting, then to Battery and lastly to App Hibernation/Aggressive Doze Mode. Disabling this mode is most likely to resolve your problem.
  • Also, if you do not want to miss out on the notification of certain apps, you can always put those apps in the exception list. To do this, go to Setting, then to Battery, and tap on Battery Optimization. Look for the three vertical dots, usually present at the top right corner of the screen and tap on it. Head to All App, select the apps that you want to put in the exception list by tapping on them and lastly select Don’t Optimize option.

Connectivity Issues

Like all other new smartphones, one tends to have connectivity issues with OnePlus 5 as well. Most of these issues are Wi-Fi related as compared to other phones where Bluetooth issues are the Prevalent ones.

Wi-Fi Issues

  • Turn off your mobile’s router and then wait for 10 seconds before turning it back on.
  • Check your Wi-Fi settings, forget the preferred networks and try connecting them again.
  • Download Wi-Fi Analyzer and check the level of activity on your current channel. If it is heavy, we suggest that you look for a better and less crowed channel.
  • Make sure that the Power Saving mode is disabled.
  • Ensure that the MAC address of your phone is recognized the router. You can check the Mac address of your phone by going to Setting, About phone.

Bluetooth Issues

  • The power saving mode should be disabled.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth and turn it back on after 10 seconds.
  • Try clearing the Cache of Bluetooth by going to Bluetooth Settings.
  • Once you have cleared the cache and the data, restart your phone.
  • In case your Bluetooth device has multiple profiles, there is always a possibility that you have reached the maximum limits of profiles that you can save. Try deleting the ones that are no longer in use and then try connecting again from the scratch.

Soft Reset

  1. To turn on the off display, press the power key.
  2. Then open the Settings.
  3. After that, look for Backup & Reset option. Tap on it.
  4. Once you have created the backup, you should tap on the Factory Data Reset Option.
  5. Then Phone Reset option and finally on Erase everything option.
  6. Wait till your device reboots automatically.

Hard Reset

  1. Switch off your phone by pressing the power key for about 5 seconds.
  2. Now turn it back on by pressing and holding the volume down button.
  3. Once the phone vibrates, let go of the volume down button.
  4. Doing this will make your phone enter the Simple Recovery mode.
  5. Head to the Wipe Cache Partition option and select it using the Power Button. In this mode, to navigate, you would use the volume buttons and to make a selection, your will use the power button.
  6. Selecting the Wipe Cache Partition option, will bring forward a pop-up with a message Cache Wipe Complete.
  7. Select the Wipe Data/Factory Reset option and wait till your phone reboots automatically.

Wipe Cache Partition

  1. Switch off your phone by pressing the power key for about 5 seconds.
  2. Now turn it back on by pressing and holding the volume down button.
  3. Once the phone vibrates, let go of the volume down button.
  4. Doing this will make your phone enter the Simple Recovery mode.
  5. Head to the Wipe Cache Partition option and select it using the Power Button. In this mode, to navigate, you would use the volume buttons and to make a selection, your will use the power button.
  6. Selecting the Wipe Cache Partition option, will bring forward a pop-up with a message Cache Wipe Complete.

Booting into Safe Mode

  1. Switch off your phone, and turn it back on by pressing and holding the Power Button.
  2. Once the phone starts to load, press down both the volume down as well as the volume up button at the same time.
  3. Keep holding this buttons till the boot is completed.
  4. Now when you unlock your device you will see that you have booted into the Safe Mode.
