If you are looking for the new update of OxygenOS for your OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T, you are in for a treat! Recently a new update OxygenOS 4.1.5 has been announced for both your phones. The update comes with several new features including push notifications for OnePlus. Also, the problems that users were facing with the OxygenOs 4.1.3 has been resolved. There are other enhancements along with more bug fixes in the update. We are pretty sure, you must be excited to install this update on your phone. We are going to help you do it, in this article, we will tell you how to install OxygenOS 4.1.5 Android 7.1.1 Nougat Firmware on your OnePlus 3T.

Unlike other updates where it is a must for you to root your phone, for OxygenOS 4.1.5 you don’t have to root your phone. All you need to have is a custom recovery, the update is compatible with TWRP Custom Recovery. In this tutorial, we will be using TWRP. Also, the installation is not going to wipe your data clean, but we do suggest you make a backup of your data.

Prerequisites:

Below we have listed the things that you need to download and install before you start with the updating process.

  • You need to make sure that the latest USB Drivers of OnePlus 3T are download on your computer. They should be properly installed too.
  • Make sure the USB debugging mode on your phone is enabled.
  • It is important to ensure that the bootloader of your phone is unlocked. As a locked bootloader many get you into some trouble during the installation process.
  • Although, the installation process is not going to make you lose any data, yet it is imperative that you make a backup of your data in case something goes wrong.
  • A custom recovery preferable TWRP should be installed on your computer.

Complete Instructions:

Step 1: Start with downloading the Android 7.1.1 Oxygen 4.1.5 file on your computer. This file should be compatible with your OnePlus 3T.

Step 2: You need to connect your phone to your computer via a USB. This will mount the memory of your phone onto your computer.

Step 3:  You now need to copy the file that you downloaded in the first step and paste in onto the memory of your phone. Make sure that the file is placed directly onto the phone’s memory and not in any folder.

Step 4: Now disconnect your phone and restart it in the Recovery mode. You can do that by pressing and holding the Volume Down button along with the Volume up button.

Step 5: Once you are in the Recovery mode, you have to look for the install button in the ‘List’ and tap on it. Then you have to choose the file that you placed in your OnePlus 3T memory in the third step.

Step 6:  After you have selected the file, it is time to confirm the installation process. You can do that by swiping the “Swipe to Confirm Flash” option. Doing this will instigate the installation process.

Note: If you run into any kind of problems or boot loops, perform Dalvik Cache swipe.

Step 7:  Once the installation process is completed, you will have to reboot your phone by tapping on the Reboot System button. The rebooting process might take a couple of minutes especially when you are rebooting it for the first time.

That is it, you are done. You can now enjoy the latest OxgyenOS Android 7.1.1. Nougat official firmware on your OnePlus 3T.
