Huawei is quickly becoming a brand name for designing average range smartphones and in January 2017 yet another smartphone Huawei P8 Lite was released by the company and it’s still going strong. It has also the decent features that any smartphone user would want to have or experience. 

Huawei has, however, launched P8 Lite with a locked bootloader which implies that one would have to unlock it before one could root one’s device. Android users have the bounty of customizing their smartphones to heir accord and that’s what Huawei P8 Lite user would want too. 

Installing different ROMs, TWRP recovery and whatnot, all these installations are only possible if the bootloader is enabled on your device and we will tell you here how to unlock the bootloader on your Huawei P8 Lite. One thing that has to be kept in mind is that this tutorial is compatible with only the Huawei P8 Lite variant PRA-LX1. Since all the smartphones come in variants, every tutorial is not for every variant of the device.

Requirements:

(i) USB drivers, ADB and Fastboot should be installed on your computer.

(ii) USB debugging mode and OEM unlocking must be enabled.

(iii) Your phone should be charged at least 60% to 65%.

(iv) Get the Product Id by dialling *#*#1357946#*#* on your phone and jot down IMEI and serial number by going to Settings >> About >> Status.

(v) Your device should be running on EMUI 5.0.

(vi) Make back up of all your data or at least the necessary one.

(vii) Open Huawei unlock website and login/signup there and then go to Downloads selecting Unlock Bootloader.

(viii) You will be asked to fill the form with all the information you had gathered in previous steps mentioned above. When you click on ‘Commit’ after form completion, the unlock code will appear.

How to unlock Bootloader on Huawei P8 Lite:

1 You should connect your smartphone with the computer and go to the Fastboot and ADB directory and type in the following command after launching command prompt “adb reboot bootloader”.

2 The device will reboot then and enter into the Bootloader mode and then lastly, you shall enter the following command to unlock bootloader on your device “fastboot oem unlock {unlock code}<< this has been procured in Requirement# (vii).
