Before we get down to the installation process, there are a couple of things that you either have to perform or download.
- First and foremost, you need to create a backup of your phone. There is a possibility that you might end up wipe clean your phone during the installation process. Or you something goes wrong and you lose all your data.
- It is imperative that you enable the USB Debugging Mode on your Essential PH-1. You can enable the mode by going to Settings and then to Developer Options.
- Don’t forget to install Essential PH-1 USB Drivers on your computer. This is an important step, so don’t miss it out.

Step 1: The first thing that you need to do is launch the ADB command on the interface of your computer.
Step 2: Now you need to connect your phone to your computer using a USB cable.
Step 3: If this is the first time you are doing this, you will get a pop up on your phone. It will ask for USB debugging permission. You allow it in order to proceed forward.
Step 4: Now enter the command below and hit Enter. The command will reboot your phone into fastboot mode.
adb reboot bootloader
Step 5: Another way to boot your phone into the fastboot mode is by first powering it off and then pressing and holding the power button along with the volume button at the same time.
Step 6: Once in the fastboot mode, you then have to type the following command.
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Step 7: Once all the flashing is done, you will have to boot your phone into the Recovery Mode.
Step 8: Download the Magisk 14.3 zip file, and then you need to transfer it to your phone using a USB connection.
Step 9: In the TWRP Mode, select Instal option and then select the Magisk Zip file. To flash it you need to swipe it.
Step 10: Head back to TWRP main page, now select Reboot>Bootloader.
Step 11: Once your phone is back in the fastboot mode, you then have to flash the following command with the appropriate boot image respective to your phone.
fastboot flash boot boot.img.
Step 12: Disconnect your phone and reboot it. You are done now, you have rooted your phone with Magisk.
