In this tutorial we are going to give you an exclusive tutorial about downloading the recently released ViperOne Custom ROM for HTC One(M9). The ROM is not officially released by HTC mobiles so to flash the ViperOne ROM on your HTC One(M9) you will need to have your bootloader unlocked on your HTC device.

Let’s get you to the installation process without any further delay. But before we start the step by step instruction, let’s have a look at the pre-requisites you need to have in mind before the process. 


You need to make a backup of your data, as they will have to clear your phone’s memory in order to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow ViperOne Custom ROM on your phone.

  • Make sure that you have enabled the USB debugging mode. If it is disabled, your phone will not get connected to your PC.
  • Another important thing to do is to download and install the latest USB drivers of HTC on your computer.
  • The bootloader of your phone should be unlocked.
  • The phone should be rooted and it should have the latest Custom Recovery installed on it.
  • Make sure that the battery of your phone is above 80%.

Complete Instructions:

Step 1: Download Google Apps along with Download Android 6.0 ViperOne ROM on your PC and extract the boot.img from the zip files separately and then download Google Apps. 

Step 2: Connect your phone to your PC in order to mount its memory. Make sure that you are using the original data cable.

Step 3:  Copy the files that you downloaded in the first step, make sure that these files are placed directly in the memory and not in any folder.

Step 4: Now you will have to copy/paste the boot.img file to the  android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory.

Step 5: Disconnect your phone, turn it off and switch back on into the Fastboot mode. To enter this mode, you have to press and hold the power keys along with the volume down button.

Step 6: Here you will have to go to the android-sdk-windows\platform-tools directory on your computer and open the command prompt typing in the command ‘fastboot flash boot boot.img’ and pressing Enter.

Step 7: Next you will have to type in the command ‘fastboot reboot’ and press Enter.

Step 8: Then you will have to enter the recovery mode by holding and pressing the Power button and volume down key simultaneously. Once in the TWRP mode, tap “wipe” button to erase all data from your device, then go down and tap “swipe to the factory reset” option.

Step 9: To flash the ROM, you have to head back to the main menu, tap on install option and then search for the ROM zip file that you have copied to your phone’s memory. Select it, tap on the confirmation button to proceed on with the installation process.

Step 10:  Once the installation process is completed, you should reboot your phone.

That is it! You are done, enjoy the latest Android on your HTC One M9.
