All these phones came with android Lollipop, but the good news is that you can upgrade them to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Although we were expecting the Nougat update, but slow and steady wins the race.

You will get your Nougat update eventually, but for now, you should be content with whatever you get. In the course of this article, we will provide you a step by step guide on how to upgrade your phone. However, this tutorial is limited only to Oppo R9, R9 Plus, and F1s phone, so make sure you have the right model. Please do not try it on another mobile model or manufacture.

Before we start the actual process, it is crucial that you make a backup of your phone. You need to perform the steps below
⦁ Enable the USB debugging mode and to do so, go to Settings>Developer options.
⦁ Make sure that you have correctly installed the USB drivers for your desired phone on your computer
⦁ Ensure that you have about 2 GB of free space on your smartphone.
⦁ The battery percentage should be above 80 percent.

You don’t need to have all these three files, just download the one that is related to your model number.

Instructions for downloading Android 6.0

⦁ Download Android Marshmallow official update file
⦁ Connect your phone, whichever models it is, to your PC
⦁ Shift the Marshmallow firmware files to the root folder of your SD Card on your Oppo smartphone
⦁ Next step is that you go to Files, from there, you need to select All Files, zip File and then click Update Now
⦁ Your device will reboot and it will display the progress of upgrade
⦁ The installation process is initiated and it will take some time. After that, your phone will be upgraded to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
