Take it out of water and switch it off

The moment you take your phone out of the water, the best option is to switch it off instantly. Trying to fiddle with it by turning it on and checking if it is working or not is the worst thing that you can do. Things that you shouldn’t Do

  • Do not turn on your phone as mentioned above.
  • Do not plug it in for charging as electrical components aren’t that good with water.

  • Shaking or blowing the phone isn’t going to help. On the contrary, it might just cause more damage by pushing the water deeper areas of your mobile phone.

By dissembling, we do not mean that you have to take the entire phone apart. What we mean is that you should remove those things that can be easily removed such as back cover, battery if that is removable. Remove your SIM card along with your memory card, if you have any.

Use Paper Towel for drying the exterior

It is important to get rid of all the excess water, and you can do that by cleaning the exterior of your phone. We would suggest that you use a paper towel to wipe off the access water. Try to dry everything out without moving your phone too much.

Try Vacuum Cleaner

A blow dryer is a bad option, but a vacuum cleaner might work. Reason being, a blow dry might further push the water inside the phone, a vacuum cleaner, on the other hand, sucks it out.

Give Time to dry

Give some time for your phone to fully dry before you actually try to restart it. With time we do mean a couple of hours and minutes. Another way of drying your phone is to put it in an airlock bag full of the price. This might just dry your phone faster.
