LG has always managed to come up with something out of the box. The company is famous for its technological advancement in terms of its products. LG G6 H870 is an amazing phone to have. The phone is a complete package and to further test its limits, you can always unlock the bootloader. The good news is that LG G6’s bootloader can now be officially unlocked. The phone comes with a locked bootloader, however, you can show unlock it via our tutorial on how to unlock Bootloader on LGG6 H870.  Most of the companies tend to keep the bootloader locked, but with time, these companies roll out the way of officially unlocking the bootloader.

Below we have listed the things that you would need in order to unlock the bootloader on your mobile.

  • The first thing to do is to install the latest USB drivers of LG G6 on your PC.
  • Then you have to download ADB along with Fastboot.
  • Don’t forget to enable the developers option and to do so, go to Setting, from there to About phone. Now tap on build number of 6 to 7 times to enable the option.
  • Enabling the USB Debugging mode on your phone is also important.
  • Make sure that you have enabled the OEM Unlocking.
  • It is imperative to make a backup of your data as everything on your phone will be deleted.
  • Your phone’s battery should be equal or greater than 80 percent.

How to unlock Bootloader on LG G6 H870

Below are the steps for unlocking the bootloader on your phone.

Step 1: First thing first, you need to create an LG Developer’s account and this will get you the required Device ID and IMEI number.

Step 2: There are two ways of getting the IMEI number, enter you can type *#06# on your dialer and send it or you can get it on their official website. However, in order to get the Device ID, you would have to follow the steps below.

Step 3: You need to connect your phone to your PC via a USB cable.

Step 4: Once this is done, you then need to head to the ADB and Fastboot directory.

Step 5: From the directory, you have to open a command prompt by pressing the shift key and right clicking anywhere in the directory.

Step 6: Type “adb reboot bootloader” The command is for booting your phone into bootloader mode.

Step 7: Then, you need to type “fastboot oem device-id”  and press Enter.

Step 8: Now type “ $ fastboot oem device-id”

 (bootloader)—————————————————————(bootloader) Device-ID

 Step 9: To get hold of the key to unlocking the bootloader, you have to type both the above keys in the same line.

Step 10: Once done, go to the LG Developers website and click on Start Unlocking the Bootloader button.

Step 11: You will be asked to enter information such as device ID, IMEI and email ID. Enter all the information.

Step 12: From the drop-down menu of Phone, you have to select LG G6 H870 and then press Confirm Button.

Step 13: A mail will be sent to your email ID containing the unlock.bin key for your phone.

Step 14: Download it to your ADB and Fastboot directory and then type the command “fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin”

Step 15: Type “fastboot reboot” to restart your phone.

That is it, the bootloader of your LG G6 will be unlocked, provided you have followed each and every step carefully.
